With four children and a family-run sheet metal shop, you can imagine how elusive "getting away" can be for my husband and I. And yet, last weekend, it happened.
I'll spare you the mushy, gushy details of how I'm still seriously crushing over this guy and simply share a few photo's of the trip. To provide some context, here's some of what we experienced:
A 10-hour road trip to Custer, South Dakota
A stay at the beautifully renovated Holiday Inn Express, right in town
The best Chicken Pot Pie either of us have ever had at Bobcat's Purple Pie Place
A couple of amazing meals at Baker's Bakery & Cafe, as well as Black Hills Burger & Bun Co.
Over 15 miles and over 20,000 feet hiked at the GORGEOUS Custer State Park, where we...
Interrupted two beautiful white tail deer as they ate supper
Hiked to the top of Harney Peak (7,200 feet)
Hiked to the top of Little Devil's Tower (6,900 feet) TWICE
Hiked the trail to the Cathedral Spires
Picnicked atop Little Devil's tower
Watched a STUNNING sunset atop Little Devil's Tower, in the company of two very cool mountain goats
Hiked by the light of a full moon
In summary, the best day-and-a-half-date ever.
The sunset photo's are my favorite. Because, seriously.
